New Orleans Saints Draft Picks
Great insight from ESPN NFL Draft Analyst Matt Miller on the Saints' options in the 1st round of the 2025 NFL Draft.@nfldraftscout: "Over-drafting a quarterback, I think, is more dangerous than waiting to draft your quarterback."

2025 NFL Draft: New Orleans’ Team Needs
There’s buzz around NFL circles that Derek Carr has been wanting out of the #Saints all offseason — and his shoulder injury might be part of that push.
Meanwhile, the #Saints have been planning to draft a QB regardless. But we have not heard the end of this. https://t.co/syg5wQ9Rix pic.twitter.com/unTpVMRqlg

Cornerback
Cornerback is the most important player on the defensive side of the ball.
The Saints traded Marshon Lattimore at last season’s deadline and lost Paulson Adebo in free agency.
New Orleans brought back Isaac Yiadom for a second stint after he spent 2024 with the San Francisco 49ers.
The Saints must walk away from this draft with at least one starting cornerback.
Quarterback
Three weeks ago, the Saints were likely to pass on a quarterback at No. 9.
Things have clearly changed after the report that Derek Carr might need surgery and could miss part of the 2025 season.
If Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders falls to No. 9, does Moore forget about cornerback and draft his quarterback of the future?
Offensive Line
Even if the Saints don’t take Sanders, building a stable offensive line will be a priority for Moore.
The Saints selected tackle Taliese Fuaga in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Trevor Penning is the likely right tackle. If one of the top tackles gets to No. 9, the Saints should definitely consider taking one. They can always kick one of the tackles to guard.
2025 NFL Mock Draft: Saints
- Round 1: No. 9 – Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders
- Round 2: No. 40 – Notre Dame CB Benjamin Morrison
- Round 3: No. 71 – Purdue OG Marcus Mbow
- Round 3: No. 93 (from Washington) – Kansas State CB Jacob Parrish
- Round 4: No. 112 – Kansas OT Logan Brown
- Round 4: No. 131 (from Washington) – Virginia Tech WR Da’Quan Felton
- Round 6: No. 184 – Minnesota Edge Jah Joyner
- Round 7: No. 248 (from Philadelphia through Washington) – Cincinnati RB Corey Kiner
