NFL Draft 2025: San Francisco 49ers Picks, Team Needs, Targets, & Mock Draft

The San Francisco 49ers had title hopes during the 2024 NFL campaign after coming up short in the Super Bowl the year prior, but ultimately disappointed last season. They finished with a 6-11 record, and in last place in the NFC West after winning the division crown in each of the previous two years. They dealt with various injuries to players at key positions, and saw declining production from others that tied into their struggles.
San Francisco 49ers | NFL Draft Preview
No team was hit harder in free agency in terms of player departures than the 49ers. They lost key defensive pieces when guys like Dre Greenlaw, Charvarius Ward, and Talanoa Hufanga all left, to add to Javon Hargrave and Leonard Floyd. Add in the trade of Deebo Samuel, and we could be looking at a much different team in 2025.
What holes do they have to fill on their roster after the departures? We take a look at which picks the 49ers hold in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, what needs they have, and which players they might pick in order to upgrade their talent.
List Of 49ers Picks In 2025 NFL Draft
The only team that has as much draft capital as the 49ers are the Baltimore Ravens. They each have 11 selections overall, though it is San Francisco who have the more valuable picks. The 11th overall pick is their prized possession, but it is on the back end of the selection process where they are loaded up.
The 49ers have seven picks in the 4th round or later, so look for them to use some of that ammunition to potentially move up.

Team Needs
Defensive Tackle
Of the four players that manned their defensive line in 2024, the 49ers saw three of them depart via free agency this offseason. Their two current listed starters at defensive tackle are Jordan Elliot and Kevin Givens, who had a combined 30 tackles last season. Look for San Francisco to upgrade during the NFL Draft, perhaps even using multiple picks to add needed depth.
Cornerback
The 49ers addressed the cornerback position in free agency, but only truly added depth as opposed to elite talent. The loss of Charvarius Ward will hurt, though they can at least begin to remedy the issue if they select a CB within the first few rounds.
Offensive Tackle
The loss of Jaylen Moore will hurt the offensive line, which plays a huge part in the offensive success for the 49ers. And with Trent Williams turning 37 years old and having played in just 10 games last season, the front office should be looking toward the future of the position. Many NFL mock drafts have San Francisco selecting an elite tackle prospect with their first round pick.
Mock Draft (4 Rounds)
1st Round, 11th overall pick: Kelvin Banks – OT, Texas
2nd Round, 43rd overall pick: Benjamin Morrison – CB, Notre Dame
3rd Round, 75th overall pick: Bradyn Swinson – EDGE, LSU
3rd Round, 100th overall pick: Kyle Williams – WR, Washington State
4th Round, 113th overall pick: Vernon Broughton – DL, Texas
4th Round, 138th overall pick: Seth McLaughlin – IOL, Ohio State
Sportsbook Projections
The betting favorite for while prospect the 49ers will draft in the first round is Mykel Williams, an edge rusher out of Georgia. He comes in with a designation of +400, giving him implied odds of 20% to be the one selected at no.11. The top five features two offensive tackles, a cornerback, and another edge prospect.
