We are just days away from the 2025 NFL Draft, and teams around the league are continuing their evaluation through the final hours. One of the players that still remains a question mark is Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, who has been mocked anywhere from the early second round to the late third.

3 NFL Teams That Could Trade Up For Jalen Milroe

There are a handful of teams that are projected to select quarterbacks in that range, and Milroe could be on their radars. There are other teams that could pull a surprise by selecting a signal caller on Day 2.

We take a look at both as we highlight three NFL teams that could trade up to select the dynamic QB prospect:

Cleveland Browns

The Browns are one of the teams that is most likely to target a quarterback in the second round. It seems unlikely that they’d ride with Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett as their only options heading into the season, and there are few avenues left for them to address the situation.

They can draft and elite and perhaps generational player with the second overall pick, and own the 33rd overall as well. If they wanted to pick Jalen Milroe after that, they might have to move up into the second round in order to sneak in front of the New York Giants, who own the first pick of the third round.

Hypothetical Trade:

Bills get: 3rd round pick, 67th overall + 4th round pick, 104th overall

Browns get: 2nd round pick, 62nd overall + 6th round pick, 179th overall

Las Vegas Raiders

It was thought that the Raiders would be one of the quarterback-needy teams for the 2025 NFL Draft, but they answered their immediate question mark by trading for Geno Smith. They could still be one of the teams that picks a signal caller on Day 2, seeing as Smith has no guaranteed money on his deal after 2026, and Las Vegas could get a jump on grooming his replacement.

In this scenario, the Raiders could select Ashton Jeanty with their 6th overall pick and fill another need in the second round before addressing the quarterback position. They would need to trade their fourth round pick in order to make it work, but it might be a price they’re willing to pay.

Hypothetical Trade:

Eagles get: 3rd round pick, 68th overall + 5th round pick, 143rd overall

Raiders get: 2nd round pick, 64th overall

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are certainly not hungry for a quarterback, and won’t be using either of their first two picks to address the position. But if Milroe is still available early in the third round, they could use some of their extensive draft capital in order to move into position to nab the Alabama product.

The team is expected to sign Brock Purdy to an extension this summer, so there is no immediate need, especially with Mac Jones already slotted as the backup. Don’t put it past Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch, though, who could have an eye on the future while also envisioning a play package for Milroe to utilize his dynamic skills.

Hypothetical Trade:

Chiefs get: 3rd round pick, 75th overall + 4th round pick, 113th overall

49ers get: 3rd round pick, 66th overall + 7th round pick, 226th overall
