The Chicago Bears are operating under a new regime, and will be looking to add some elite talent during the 2025 NFL Draft. There may be no team in the league in a better position to do so, as they are the only team to have three picks in the top-50 for this year’s selection process.

Bears Still Reaping Benefits Of Bryce Young Trade

They are still reaping the benefits of the Bryce Young trade. Chicago held the rights to the no.1 overall pick during the 2023 Draft, but traded the selection away for a haul of assets. In order to move up and take Young first overall, the Carolina Panthers sent the 9th and 61st picks in 2023 to Chicago, as well as their first round selection in 2024. The latter ended up being the first overall pick, which the Bears used to select QB Caleb Williams.

The Bears also received wide receiver DJ Moore as a part of the package, but there is still one asset left to be settled. The final piece of the swap was a 2025 second round pick, which Chicago will have in its arsenal for the upcoming draft. It will be the 7th pick of the second round, and 39th overall, adding to the capital that the team will have this year.

All together, the Bears currently hold the rights to the 10th, 39th, and 41st overall picks, the only team with three selections in the top-50.

Will they put the picks to good use? The Bears have already revamped their offensive line that struggled mightily a season ago, but still need some help in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Most mock drafts have them picking multiple linemen within the first two rounds, and there should be a handful of elite options available at no.10.

Or will they use the extra capital to trade down? Chicago’s draft outlook is top-heavy, as they are currently without picks in the 4th and 6th rounds. If they are to move down from either the 39th or 41st selections, they could pick up a Day 3 pick or two in the process, turning some of their quality into quantity.
