Which team will take a chance on the veteran wide receiver? View Cooper’s three best landing spots below. Pittsburgh Steelers Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers told the @PatMcAfeeShow that he’s “pretty sure this is it”, the last season of his NFL career. Rodgers said it is why he signed a one-year deal in Pittsburgh. pic.twitter.com/MVRVcQhd6E — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) June 24, 2025 Had this list come out in March, the Pittsburgh Steelers would not have been an ideal destination for Cooper. Sign a Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, and things quickly change. Rodgers will be under center for the Steelers during the 2025 season. Rodgers’ top target will be DK Metcalf, the former Seattle Seahawk who was traded to Pittsburgh earlier this offseason. Metcalf is a big, physical threat on the outside who will serve as Rodgers’ new version of Davante Adams. Tight end Pat Freiermuth is the second-best receiving option in Pittsburgh. Outside of Metcalf, the Steelers’ receiving corps is average at best. Robert Woods, Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Scotty Miller, and Ben Skowronek will be in the running for snaps. If Cooper signs with the Steelers, he’d immediately be in the mix to be the No. 2 receiver behind Metcalf. Despite his struggles last season, Cooper had a career-high 1,250 receiving yards in 2023. Cleveland Browns Cleveland Browns record for most receiving yards in a game: 🔸Amari Cooper: 265 @ HOU (2023)🔸Josh Gordon: 261 vs. JAX (2013)🔸Josh Gordon: 237 vs. PIT (2013)🔸Jerry Jeudy: 235 @ DEN (2024)#DawgPound pic.twitter.com/jZSPuJWwGZ — SleeperBrowns (@SleeperBrowns) June 16, 2025 Do you want to know which team Cooper had the 1,250 yards with? Cooper achieved that feat as a member of the Cleveland Browns. Considering the Browns traded Cooper to the Buffalo Bills last season, Cleveland might not be jumping at the bit to get back into business with their former wide receiver. While the Browns have Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman, the No. 3 receiver spot is up for grabs. Right now, that spot belongs to Diontae Johnson. At this point, Johnson is a total wild card. Johnson played for three teams last season, including the Baltimore Ravens. Things reached a breaking point when Johnson refused to enter a game while playing for the Ravens. The team suspended and then waived Johnson. If the Browns are looking for insurance behind Johnson, Cooper could be that guy. Los Angeles Chargers Yikes: Chargers star QB Justin Herbert had 25 passes DROPPED by his receivers this past season… Herbert needs some help 😔 pic.twitter.com/prhP4pwjM2 — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) June 15, 2025 The Los Angeles Chargers have the franchise quarterback in Justin Herbert. Under Jim Harbaugh, the organization has invested heavily in the offensive line. The Chargers also struck gold with Ladd McConkey, who registered 1,149 receiving yards as a rookie. Outside of McConkey, the Chargers don’t have a reliable second option. Los Angeles signed Mike Williams after he had a down year. Quentin Johnston continues to drop passes at an alarming rate. Adding another pass-catcher like Cooper can’t hurt. Cooper should be fairly cheap, too.
