The experiment with Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets didn’t go as planned for Davante Adams. Now that the team is moving in another direction, both players will be looking for new homes, and Adams will be one of the best free agents in the NFL during the upcoming signing period.

He should have plenty left in the tank. He has posted 1,000+ yards in 6 of the last 7 seasons (997 yards in the other), and was able to score 8 touchdowns in 2024 despite the tumultuous season that he endured. Adams is 32 years old and hasn’t shown any signs of breaking down any time soon, and could be a game changer for a team looking to upgrade at wide receiver.

4 NFL Teams That Could Sign Davante Adams

Which NFL teams will be interested in the services of Davante Adams? We take a look at four options for the three-time First Team All-Pro.

Green Bay Packers

One team that has been mentioned in the Adams rumors are the Packers. He is of course familiar with the organization, where he grew into one of the best receivers in the NFL while teamed up with Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay would benefit from an elite veteran, as they haven’t had a wideout gain more than 860 yards in a season since Adams himself did it in 2021.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are in desperate need of an upgrade at wide receiver. They should be one of the more active teams on the open market for the position, as they look to provide Justin Herbert with more than just Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnson. They’ll have the money to do so, as they currently rank third in the NFL in cap room.

New York Giants

There are murmurs about the Giants having interest in Aaron Rodgers, which would naturally make it an option for Adams. New York only has $13.8 million owed to their wide receiver room in 2025, the 5th lowest in the NFL, and could be looking to put a veteran on the opposite side of Malik Nabers.

San Francisco 49ers

Would Adams come home and play in the Bay Area? He was born in East Palo Alto, where he played his high school football as well. The 49ers may be revamping their wide receiver room with the trade of Deebo Samuel and whispers of potentially parting ways with Brandon Aiyuk.
