Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Darnold and the Seahawks have agreed to a three-year deal worth $100.5 million. The contract includes $55 million guaranteed.

The move comes days after the Seahawks traded quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders for a third-round draft pick.

After flaming out with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, Darnold, 27, experienced a career resurgence with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024.

Darnold threw for 4,319 passing yards (fifth in NFL), 35 touchdowns (fifth in NFL), and 12 interceptions. Darnold led the Minnesota Vikings to 14 wins and a playoff berth.

Despite losing in the Wild Card round, the Vikings were still interested in bringing Darnold back to compete with J.J. McCarthy.

Minnesota did not use the franchise tag on Darnold.

Once the Seahawks traded Smith, the writing was on the wall for Minnesota’s chances of retaining Darnold.

Darnold reunites in Seattle with offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who worked with Darnold in 2023 on the San Francisco 49ers.

With Aaron Rodgers out of New York, the Jets are taking a chance on the former Steelers quarterback.

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Fields and the Jets have agreed to a two-year contract worth $40 million, including $30 million guaranteed.

After spending his first three seasons with the Chicago Bears, Fields was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in March 2024.

After Russell Wilson’s injury, Fields began the Steelers season as the starter.

Fields led the Steelers to a 4-2 record before Mike Tomlin benched him for Wilson.

Fields finished the 2024 season with 1,106 yards passing, five touchdowns, and one interception. Fields also added 289 yards rushing and five touchdowns.

Fields now gets a fresh start in New York under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn.
