Shedeur Sanders will be making the first start of his NFL career on Sunday when the Cleveland Browns take on the Las Vegas Raiders. There will be plenty of interest in what would normally be a lackluster game between losing franchises, and Sanders will be the driving force behind the attention surrounding the contest.
Prop Bets For Shedeur Sanders In His First NFL Start
Given his performance in relief of Dillon Gabriel last week, the expectations are rather low. In the second half against Baltimore in Week 11, Sanders completed just four of his sixteen passes, and accounted for 47 passing yards while being sacked twice. He generally looked lost and underdeveloped, suffering from some of the same issues from his college days that turned teams away during the draft process.
The oddsmakers aren’t showing him much love, either. There are prop bets that have been made available regarding Shedeur Sanders and his starting debut, and the expectations are low there, too.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Sanders has an over/under of 161.5 passing yards. That is by far the lowest figure for any of the slated starters for this coming weekend, and the only one listed below 200 yards. If for whatever reason, he throws for over 300 yards, bettors can cash in at a whopping +4400 value ($10 to win $440). His over/under on touchdown passes is 0.5.
There are other proposition bets connected to Sanders’ name this week. An anytime touchdown prop carries a value of +600, and his longest completion is set at over/under 29.5 yards. Perhaps one of the most intriguing options is his rushing yards total, which comes in at just 19.5. In his limited time during last week’s game, he rushed three times for 16 yards.

Given that the Browns opted to give all of the first team reps (both in games and in practice) to fellow rookie Gabriel, the team was clearly not ready for Sanders to make his NFL debut. There have been multiple reports out of Cleveland that he needed far more practice experience before being thrown into action, but the concussion issues that Gabriel is facing leave the team with no other option.
Sunday’s game in Las Vegas will feature two teams sitting at 2-8, and the Raiders are solid favorites. As of Wednesday, the home team as a 4-point advantage in the spread, and the game total is set at just 36.5.
