NFL Odds: Baker Mayfield Has 20% Chance Of Winning MVP

Baker Mayfield continued his hot start to the 2025 NFL season on Sunday. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has led his team to a 5-1 start after defeating the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6, and he is starting to garner some serious attention when it comes to the NFL MVP award.

Baker Mayfield Listed At +400 To Win NFL MVP

Mayfield entered the season with a +3300 designation to win the award. Those are implied odds of just under 3%, and he was behind guys like CJ Stroud and Brock Purdy on the board. But in what has been perhaps the best comeback performance of the 2025 campaign thus far, Mayfield has been one of the best players in the league.

He entered Week 6 ranked 4th in the league in passing yards, and tied for third with 10 touchdown passes. Against the 49ers, he completed 17 of his 23 pass attempts, and tossed two touchdowns while putting up 256 yards through the air. It was the first game this season in which Mayfield didn’t have to lead his team to a comeback victory, which is a category that he leads the league in (four 4th quarter comebacks).

Thanks to his elevated play thus far in 2025, Baker Mayfield is now listed at +400 to win the NFL MVP award, behind only Josh Allen on the odds board. Those are implied odds of 20%.

Drake Maye Climbs Up MVP Ladder In Weeks 5 & 6

Mayfield isn’t the only one climbing up the MVP ladder. In what may be an equally big surprise, New England Patriots second-year QB Drake Maye is now listed at +2200. He has been playing well for most of the season, but Maye had his true coming out party against Buffalo in Week 5, which he followed with a three touchdown, zero interception performance against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

That figure is tied with Jayden Daniels for the 8th-shortest odds for any player in the NFL. It is lower than the designations for guys like Dak Prescott (+3000) and Jalen Hurts (+2800).

Heading into the Bills game on Monday night, Josh Allen is currently a runaway favorite at +170. Those are implied odds of 37% for Buffalo’s quarterback to win the NFL MVP award in back-to-back seasons.
