NFL Odds: Patrick Mahomes Has 40% Chance Of Winning MVP

After their dominant win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs are now the clear betting favorite to win the Super Bowl. The odds are in their quarterback’s favor as well when it comes to personal accolades, as Patrick Mahomes is now atop the board when it comes to the NFL MVP race.

Patrick Mahomes Now Alone As NFL MVP Favorite

There were some who counted the Chiefs out completely just a couple of weeks ago. There were questions entering the 2025 season about whether Kansas City would be able to continue their dynastic run, given the lack of firepower surrounding Mahomes on the offensive side.

Early on, it looked as though the concerns were valid. The Chiefs hobbled out to a 2-3 start, with losses coming against the Chargers, Eagles, and Jaguars. They looked like anything but a championship contender, and they fell down the Super Bowl odds board.

But thanks to some of their playmakers returning to action and elevated play in general, the team has since picked up two impressive wins. A statement victory in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions got them back to .500 and back in the contender conversation, and they followed that up with a 31-0 takedown of the Raiders on Sunday.

Mayfield Passes Allen On The Odds Board

A week after Mahomes pulled even with Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills in the NFL MVP race, he now stands alone. As of Sunday night, he is now listed with a designation of +150, or implied odds of 40%.

Allen, who entered the season as the favorite to win the award in back to back years, currently has the third-shortest odds at  +400. He has been passed not only by Mahomes, but by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield as well, who is in second place on the odds board at +320.

The lines are of course subject to change with each passing week, though the picture may be more clear a month from now. Allen’s Bills will take on both the Chiefs and Buccaneers in the month of November, contests that could go a long way in deciding individual awards for the 2025 NFL season.
