Top Five Favorites To Win NFL OROY Award
The NFL OROY award goes to the best offensive rookie in the league.
Below are the top five favorites for the NFL OROY award.
- 1. Jayden Daniels (-135)
- 2. Bo Nix (+110)
- 3. Brock Bowers (+2500)
- 4.Brian Thomas Jr (+5000)
- 5. Drake Maye (+6000)
Jayden Daniels (-135)
Jayden Daniels is the favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
A few weeks ago, Daniels was a massive favorite to win the NFL OROY award. However, Washington has lost three straight games. Daniels’ numbers have dipped over the last three games. He has thrown an interception in two consecutive games and Daniels has been sacked three or more times in three straight games. His passing numbers have been down recently, throwing for less than 210 passing yards in three of their last four games.
Daniels has 2,613 passing yards, 12 passing TDs, and five interceptions. He also leads Washington with 556 rushing yards. Daniels has five rushing TDs.
While Daniels has been good in his rookie campaign, he has dipped in production and the Commanders have lost three straight. He is no longer a massive favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Daniels is now a small favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Bo Nix (+110)
Bo Nix is the second favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Nix has been one of the hottest QBs in the NFL. He has two or more passing TDs in three straight games and four of the last five games. Denver is on a two-game win streak and was a FG away from defeating the Chiefs three weeks ago. The Broncos are playing well and Nix is a big reason why.
Bo Nix has 2,548 passing yards, 16 passing TDs, and six interceptions. He is second on the team with 300 rushing yards and he leads the team with four rushing TDs.
Due to Nix and Denver’s recent success, Nix has closed the gap and made the OROY a toss-up. If the Broncos can sneak into the playoffs, this will increase Nix’s chances of winning the award.
Nix is now a close second favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Brock Bowers (+2500)
Brock Bowers is a distant third favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Despite being a distant third favorite to win the award, Bowers is having a very impressive rookie campaign. He is having a lot of success despite having awful QB play.
Bowers is second in the league in receptions (74) and ninth in receiving yards (744). The TDs are not there (3) but that is more due to not having a reliable QB.
If the Raiders were a better team and had a better QB, Bowers would have odds similar to Daniels and Nix. He sees a healthy amount of targets and has recorded five or more catches in eight of 11 games this season.
If the Raiders can figure out the QB position, Bowers will be one of the best weapons in the league.
Bowers is a distant third favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Brian Thomas Jr (+5000)
Brian Thomas Jr is the fourth favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Another weapon being hurt by his team’s lack of success is Brian Thomas Jr. He has 42 receptions, 689 receiving yards, and five receiving TDs. Thomas Jr has been one of the only bright spots for the Jags.
Thomas Jr is the fourth favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Drake Maye (+6000)
Drake Maye is the fifth favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Maye has looked good since becoming the starting QB for the Patriots. In eight games, Maye has 1,458 passing yards, 10 passing TDs, and seven interceptions. He also has 286 rushing yards and a rushing TD. On a team going nowhere this season, Maye looks like he can be a capable starting QB but he needs weapons. The Patriots have no true WR1 to help Maye.
Maye is the fifth favorite to win the NFL OROY award.
Who Will Win The NFL OROY Award?
This is a two-player race between Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix.
Daniels is currently a small favorite over Nix but Nix has closed the gap, playing very well lately.
Daniels’ numbers have dipped over the last three games. He has thrown an interception in two consecutive games and has been sacked three or more times in three straight games. His passing numbers have been down recently, throwing for less than 210 passing yards in three of their last four games.
Nix has been one of the hottest QBs in the NFL. He has two or more passing TDs in three straight games and four of the last five games. Denver is on a two-game win streak and was a FG away from defeating the Chiefs three weeks ago. The Broncos are playing well and Nix is a big reason why.
If Denver makes the playoffs in a tough AFC, it will be hard to not give Nix the OROY award.
With Denver playing well, Bo Nix will win the NFL OROY award.
