The marriage between Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers looked like a match made in heaven.
The 41-year-old finished 22 of 30 for 244 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions in the Steelers’ 34-32 victory over his former team, the New York Jets.
Rodgers came out firing on the first drive, completing 4 of 5 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown.
The four-time MVP executed a six-play drive into the Jets’ territory late in the fourth quarter. Steelers kicker Chris Boswell made a 60-yard field goal to put the Steelers ahead 34-32.
The Jets turned it over on downs the next possession, giving the Steelers the Week 1 victory.
Rodgers looked like a rejuvenated quarterback in Arthur Smith’s offense. If the Steelers play like this the rest of the way, they will be a tough out in the postseason.
I just need to see it in December. The Steelers started off 10-3 last season before losing their final five games, including in the Wild Card Round.
The Steelers are attempting to win their first playoff game since 2016. They might do it, but it’s too early to tell.

No team had a worse Sunday than the Miami Dolphins.
The Indianapolis Colts scored points on all seven of their offensive drives, propelling them to a 33-8 victory over the Dolphins.
Colts quarterback Daniel Jones looked like Peyton Manning against the ‘Fins. Jones finished 22 of 29 for 272 yards and one touchdown. Jones also rushed for 26 yards and two scores.
The bigger issue was the Dolphins’ offense. Tua Tagovailoa looked lost from the opening snap, finishing 14 of 23 for 114 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
Miami’s top receiver, Tyreek Hill, managed only four receptions for 40 yards.
Miami has talent on the roster. However, there is a clear disconnect between head coach Mike McDaniel and the Dolphins’ players. That’s a recipe for disaster.
It’s going to be a long season in Miami.

Three AFC West teams won in Week 1. The lone loser was the Kansas City Chiefs, who lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 27-21 on Friday night in Brazil.
The Chiefs appeared to be the inferior team on Friday. The offense looked lethargic and lacked explosive plays. Wide receiver Xavier Worthy is leaving the game in the first quarter.
The defense could not stop Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, who threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns.
The Chiefs will likely take a step back from the 15-win team from a season ago. However, they need to lose a few more games before declare them dead in the AFC West.
