With the NFL sack record suddenly within arm’s reach, Myles Garrett is poised to deliver a history-making performance this weekend against the Tennessee Titans.
Myles Garrett Could Make NFL History This Weekend
Sitting just 3.5 sacks shy of the single-season record, it is almost a foregone conclusion that Garrett will break the mark set by Michael Strahan and TJ Watt at some point this season. He has notched 19 total QB takedowns so far in 2025, 6 more than any other player, putting him on pace to shatter the record should he remain healthy.

And even though there are four Browns games after this Sunday’s contest, Garrett might not need many more chances. In Week 14, Cleveland is slated to take on the Tennessee Titans, who have the worst record in the NFL entering the weekend. One of the weaker units on the team is their offensive line, which has allowed rookie quarterback Cam Ward to be sacked a league-high 48 times so far this year.
Cleveland’s defensive front is designed to isolate matchups and create confusion up front, and Tennessee’s protection schemes haven’t shown the ability to consistently hold up under that kind of pressure.
Notching 4 Sacks On Sunday Would Break The Single Season Record
Garrett is playing with visible confidence and urgency, fully aware that history is within reach. Four sacks in one game isn’t out of the realm of possibility, either. Garrett has notched 4+ sacks on two different occasions so far this season, and has notched 14 in just his last five games.
Breaking the record would not only place Garrett alone in the NFL history books, but it would cement his 2025 campaign as one of the greatest defensive seasons ever recorded. Against a Titans quarterback who has spent much of the year under siege, the stage is set for a relentless, high-volume pass rush performance.
