The 2025 Pro Bowl rosters were released on Thursday. While many deserved the recognition, several players were notably left off each roster. Below are several of the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl snubs.

Brian Thomas Jr.

Jacksonville’s Brian Thomas Jr. is having one of the best rookie seasons ever for a wide receiver.

The 23rd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has 80 catches for 1,179 yards (fifth in the NFL) and 10 touchdowns (T-fifth in the NFL).

Thomas has done this with Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence out of the lineup since the beginning of December with a season-ending injury.

Thomas’ numbers are better in certain categories than Baltimore’s Zay Flowers (70 catches, 1,047 yards, and four touchdowns) and Cleveland’s Jerry Jeudy (84 catches, 1,116 yards, and four touchdowns), both of whom made the Pro Bowl.

Baker Mayfield

Statistically, few quarterbacks are having a better year than Tampa’s Baker Mayfield.

In his seventh season, Mayfield is third in passing yards (4,279), second in passing touchdowns (39), and second in completion percentage (71.7%).

NFC Pro Bowl quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Sam Darnold are behind Mayfield in those three categories. Detroit’s Jared Goff, the other NFC quarterback selected to the Pro Bowl, has 4,398 passing yards, nearly 100 more than Mayfield.

Mayfield would be the likely replacement if Daniels, Darnold, or Goff opt out of the Pro Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes is widely considered the best player in the NFL. Mahomes also happens to be the starting quarterback of the NFL’s best team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Yet Mahomes was not selected to the AFC Pro Bowl roster.

Mahomes joins former Pittsburgh Steeler Ben Roethlisberger as the only two quarterbacks who went 15-1 during the regular season and missed the Pro Bowl.

Mahomes has thrown for 3,928 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 16 games.

The AFC quarterback selections are Buffalo’s Josh Allen, Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson, and Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow. Jackson and Burrow are having some of the best statistical seasons ever. While Mahomes has more passing yards than Allen, the Buffalo quarterback is the MVP favorite and has 12 rushing touchdowns.
