NFL Rumors: Buffalo Bills Offered 1st Round Pick For Jaylen Waddle

There was plenty of talk surrounding Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle ahead of last week’s NFL trade deadline. But the team ultimately chose to hold on to their speedy wide receiver, despite receiving a reasonable offer from another team.

Bills Wanted Jaylen Waddle At NFL Trade Deadline

The issue was that the interested team was the division rival Buffalo Bills.

It was no secret that the Bills were looking for wide receiver help ahead of the deadline. Despite Josh Allen not missing a beat and still being arguably the best quarterback in the league, he has lacked a true no.1 target for a couple of years now. But Buffalo was in talks to remedy that situation before they make their playoff run this season, though they ultimately stood pat when the deadline came and went.

But they certainly kicked the tires on multiple players, and not just wide receivers. According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Bills offered a 2027 first round pick with an additional 3rd round pick attached in exchange for Waddle. The Dolphins ultimately declined, apparently due to coveting a 2026 first rounder instead.

It was reportedly the largest offer that Miami received for Waddle’s services.

They made an offer to another division rival, as well. In a shocking move last Tuesday, the New York Jets shipped off defensive lineman Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys, but not before the Bills made an attempt at acquiring him.

While the Buffalo Bills are once again one of the teams to beat in the AFC this season, they’ve shown some weaknesses through the first half of their schedule. They currently sit at 6-2 after taking down the Kansas City Chiefs last week, and are big favorites to pick up a win against the Dolphins in Week 10. But, they’ll enter the day in second place in their own division, with the New England Patriots holding the top spot for now.
