NFL Rumors: Seahawks, Cowboys Showing Heavy Interest In Cooper Kupp

Cooper Kupp was released by the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week, ending his eight-year stay with the team that drafted him. The one-time All-Pro wide receiver is now a free agent and has the ability to sign with any team in the NFL, but there are a handful that appear the most interested as the weekend approaches.
Several NFL Teams Interested In WR Cooper Kupp
The Rams tried to get some value back for the 31-year-old Kupp, but were unable to find a trade partner. In order to save money and allocate cap room towards other players and positions, Los Angeles released him. Since the move happened a couple of days into the free agency period, he quickly became one of the top players available at any position, and figured to have a solid market of interested teams.
According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the teams that have been making notable pursuits of Cooper Kupp have been the Seahawks and Cowboys.
Seattle’s receiving core will certainly look different in 2025, regardless of Kupp’s decision. The team released Tyler Lockett after a 10-year stay, and then traded DK Metcalf to the Steelers, leaving Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Jake Bobo as the only wide receivers on the roster who caught an NFL pass in 2024 (Bobo had 13 catches).
Developing: A sleeper team that has emerged and is now making a push to sign former Rams free-agent wide receiver Cooper Kupp is….the Dallas Cowboys, per league sources.

The Seahawks made a change at quarterback, trading Geno Smith and bringing in Sam Darnold, and it appears that they’re interested in bringing in another wide receiver target of Cooper Kupp’s caliber.
The Cowboys, conversely, have plenty of wide receivers under contract. That includes every player at the position that caught a pass for Dallas in 2024, and is headlined of course by CeeDee Lamb. But that apparently hasn’t stopped them from looking to improve, and they believe that Kupp would be a solid addition to their slot position and help for Dak Prescott.
Russini has mentioned that the New Orleans Saints may be showing interest as well.
Kupp’s availability may not even make it to the weekend. According to reports, Friday could be the day that he officially makes his decision on his next NFL team.
