The New York Jets are the only NFL team that has yet to win a game, and their passing offense has been one of the league’s worst. Will they look to make a change at quarterback after falling to 0-6?
Jets Set NFL History With Poor Performance In Week 6
Justin Fields and the Jets offense were borderline incompetent on Sunday. They entered their Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos ranked 29th in passing yards, and had their worst showing of the season thus far. Fields completed just 9 passes on the day, and his 45 yards was the second-lowest total of his career.
His offensive line didn’t give him any help. Fields was sacked a total of nine times on the day, including the ones that ultimately sealed the game late in the fourth quarter. The total yardage that the Jets lost on those sacks came out to a total of 55, meaning that New York finished with -10 net passing yards.
The Jets' -10 net Pass YDS is the worst in a game in Jets history, and worst by any team in 27 YEARS 😱 pic.twitter.com/1C5HLHr83p

That is the worst figure in Jets history, and the worst by any NFL team in the last 27 years.
There is no doubt that the team led by first year head coach Aaron Glenn is getting desperate. The lack of success by Justin Fields is a major issue, and the Jets will likely be evaluating their options at the quarterback position.
Would Tyrod Taylor Be An Upgrade?
But is there any better option? The backup is journeyman veteran Tyrod Taylor, who started in Week 3 in the absence of Fields, which would up being the Jets’ “best” game of the season as they lost to the Buccaneers by just 2 points. Taylor completed 72% of his passes in that game, and threw two touchdowns and one interception.
There is also the option of trading for a new quarterback, though that is an unlikely possibility.
New York may want to ride it out for at least a couple more weeks. They will take on the Carolina Panthers next Sunday, which will be followed by a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. They will then have a Week 9 bye, a point in which a change is more likely.
