We are now just a few weeks away from the NFL trade deadline, and the rumor mill will be heating up for the rest of October. One of the teams that could become sellers is the Miami Dolphins, who have some talented pieces that they may want to part ways with now that their season has all but slipped away.
NFL Rumors: Eagles Could Be In The Market For A Pass Rusher
One of the names mentioned is pass rusher Bradley Chubb, and there could be a handful of teams interested in the former Pro Bowl selection.
The defending Super Bowl champions are rumored to be one of the inquiring parties. In their quest for a second straight title, the Philadelphia Eagles have gotten off to a lukewarm start. They started out 4-0 but the wins were anything but convincing, and they’ve lost their last two, including a prime time loss to the New York Giants and their rookie quarterback.

The Eagles have issues on both sides of the ball, including the pass rush. Through the first six games of the season, Philadelphia defenders have totaled just nine sacks, which ranks 26th in the NFL.
By comparison, they finished in the middle of the pack in 2024, and four of their top six sack leaders from last year are either gone or hurt. Things weren’t made any easier on Monday, either, as Za’Darius Smith announced his retirement.
Will Philly Take On A Hefty Contract In A Trade?
Trading for someone like Chubb would carry a hefty financial burden, but may be one that the Eagles are forced to take on if they hope to compete at a Super Bowl level this year. Chubb carries a cap hit of $31 million in each of the next two seasons.

Bradley Chubb may be past his most productive days in the NFL, but he is still rather young given his history, and has put up solid numbers so far this season. Through the first six weeks of 2025, he has notched four sacks, with only 15 players in the league above him in that category.
There may be other teams that are interested in bringing in an established pass rusher, so don’t be surprised to see Chubb traded before next month’s deadline.
