Nuggets Injury Report: Aaron Gordon Was Upgraded To Probable on Friday vs. Houston

Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets are 11-3 to begin the 2025-26 season. Denver is 8-2 in their last 10 games and is coming off a 125-118 win on Wednesday vs. the Pelicans.

During that game, the Nuggets were without PF Aaron Gordon. He was out due to a bilateral hamstring injury. Gordon has played in 12 of the team’s 14 games this season. On Friday evening, the Nuggets have a tough matchup vs. the red-hot Houston Rockets. Ahead of that matchup, the Nuggets announced that Aaron Gordon is listed as probable vs. Houston.

Denver will see Aaron Gordon return to the lineup on Friday vs. the Rockets

Ever since the Magic traded Aaron Gordon to the Nuggets, he’s been a key piece of Denver’s roster. Gordon was the starting PF on their 2023 championship team. The 30-year-old has appeared in 304 games for Denver and has made 295 starts. To begin the 2025-26 season, Aaron Gordon is averaging a career-high 20.3 points per game for the Nuggets. Additionally, Gordon is shooting .452% from beyond the arc. That is also a new personal best.

Aaron Gordon is a top two-way player this season for the Nuggets. He’s one of three players averaging 20+ points per game. Against the Pelicans on Wednesday, Aaron Gordon was out due to a bilateral hamstring injury. Denver’s account on X posted that Gordon was upgraded to probable on Friday. That’s massive for the Nuggets, who have an important matchup in the Emirates NBA Cup vs. the Houston Rockets.

Denver will look to slow down a Rockets team that is playing at a high level. Houston is 10-3 in 2025-26 and is on a five-game win streak. The tea is also 9-1 in their last 10 games. In 2025-26, the Rockets are all about positional size and versatility. Their starting lineup is full of players who are six-foot-seven or taller. The Nuggets will need Aaron Gordon’s production to help combat the Rockets’ size.

Ahead of Friday’s game vs. the Rockets, the Nuggets have ruled out two players. Christian Braun (ankle) and Julian Strawther (back) will not play vs. the Rockets. Braun has started 11 of Denver’s 14 games to begin the season. Friday will be his fourth consecutive game missed. While Braun has been out, Peyton Watson has replaced him in the starting lineup. Julian Strawther will miss his third consecutive game due to a back injury.
