After a sluggish three quarters in Week 6, the Packers scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to propel Green Bay past the Cincinnati Bengals 27-18.
When Josh Jacobs gets it going on the ground, the Packers offense thrives. When Jacobs rushes for at least 66 yards and one touchdown, the Packers are 3-0-1 this season. Jacobs ran for 93 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Bengals.
Since dismantling the Detroit Lions in Week 1, the Packers have failed to play a complete game. Whether it be blowing a late lead against the Cowboys or failing to put the Bengals away until the fourth quarter, the Packers have not looked like the Super Bowl contender that many thought they were following Week 1.
The Packers’ defense is a top 10 unit, including a first-ranked run defense (73.0 yards per game). The Packers are doing it with an average version of Micah Parsons, who only has 2.5 sacks on the year.
Meanwhile, it’s been heartwarming for the Cardinals. Since starting 2-0, the Cardinals have lost four consecutive games by a combined nine points.
Jacoby Brissett filled in for Kyler Murray last week, and the offense surprisingly thrived. The Cardinals gained 400 total yards against the Colts, with 320 coming through the air.
Murray has been limited in practice. Brissett would start again if the former No. 1 pick needs to miss time.
Whether it’s Murray or Brissett, I still like the Cardinals. The team plays well at home as underdogs under Jonathan Gannon — 10-6 ATS. The magic number is 20 points. When Love scores fewer than 20 points on the road, the Packers are 0-6 SU.
