Patriots’ Mike Vrabel Pushes Back On Ty Law’s Claim He Kept A Flask In His Locker

Mike Vrabel and the Patriots were at home on Sunday afternoon to face the Texans. It was a Divisional Round matchup in the 2026 playoffs.

New England took care of business and won the game 28-16. The Patriots are back in the AFC Championship game for the first time since 2018. They also won the Super Bowl that season. Ahead of Sunday’s game, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel made an appearance on the Greg Hill Show. Vrabel pushed back on Ty Law, saying he used to keep a flask in his locker. He said, “Ty sells liquor for a living, so he’s trying to push his product.”

Mike Vrabel says he did not keep a flask in his locker as a player with New England

Following the 2023 season, the Tennessee Titans parted ways with head coach Mike Vrabel. For the 2024 season, Vrabel took a small job with Kevin Stefanski and the Brown in 2024 as a coaching and personnel consultant. After taking a year off from coaching, Vrabel was one of the most sought-after candidates for the 2025 season. Eventually, Vrabel interviewed with his former team and is the head coach of the New England Patriots.

After a 3-14 finish in 2024, Vrabel led the team to a 14-3 record in 2025 and an AFC East division title. Additionally, Vrabel has New England back in the AFC Championship game for the first time since 2018. He is favored to win Coach of the Year in 2025. Over the weekend, there was a clip on social media of former Patriots player Ty Law speaking about Mike Vrabel. Both are three-time Super Bowl champions as players with New England.

Ty Law said that Mike Vrabel used to be the “party starter.” On top of that, he said, “Vrabel had a flask in his locker.” He claimed that in cold games, players would come to Vrabel’s locker to take a small sip out of his flask. Ahead of the Patriots’ game on Sunday, Mike Vrabel disputed these claims by Ty Law.

On the Greg Hill Show, Vrabel said, “Ty’s got a lot of stories. He tells a lot of stories. Some are accurate and some aren’t.” Vrabel also said he never kept a flask in the locker room. New England’s head coach said Ty Law sells liquor for a living and was trying to push his product. Mike Vrabel told Greh Hill, “Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story.” New England’s head coach had a joking manner when talking about Ty Law’s comments. Even if the story had some truth, Vrabel kept a poker face and didn’t say much.
