PFL Announces Star-Studded Welterweight and Featherweight Tournament Fields for 2025 Season

The Professional Fighters League has officially unveiled the highly anticipated tournament fields for its welterweight and featherweight divisions for the 2025 season. In a significant shift from its previous format, the PFL will now feature tournaments across eight divisions, replacing the season-long points system with a more direct, high-stakes competition. The welterweight and featherweight tournaments are set to kick off on April 11 at Universal Studios Florida, promising an action-packed night of fights.
Welterweight Division Boasts Bellator Champions
The PFL’s welterweight division is set to be a battleground of titans, headlined by three former Bellator champions: Jason Jackson (18-5), Andrey Koreshkov (28-5), and Logan Storley (16-3). These seasoned veterans bring a wealth of experience and proven track records to the tournament, immediately establishing themselves as frontrunners. Jackson, known for his well-rounded skills and recent victories, is a dangerous threat to anyone in the division. Koreshkov, a former Bellator welterweight champion, is looking to reclaim his spot at the top of the MMA world. Storley, with his dominant wrestling and relentless pressure, is a tough matchup for any striker.

Adding to the division’s depth, 2024 PFL finalist Magomed Umalatov (17-1) returns to the PFL cage, hungry for redemption and the championship title. With an impressive record and a reputation for finishing fights, Umalatov will be a formidable opponent. The remaining competitors – Mukhamed Berkhamov (17-2), Florim Zendeli (10-1), Giannis Bachar (9-2), and Masayuki Kikuiri (10-2-1) – are all skilled fighters eager to make a name for themselves on this prominent stage. Each possesses the potential to play spoiler and upset the division’s established stars.
Featherweight Tournament Features Pinedo, Kennedy, and Borics
The PFL featherweight division is equally stacked, featuring a blend of former champions, rising stars, and seasoned veterans. 2023 PFL champion Jesus Pinedo (23-6-1) is back to defend his crown and prove he is still the man to beat at 145 pounds. Known for his explosive striking and relentless pressure, Pinedo is a force to be reckoned with.

Challenging him for the title is former Bellator title challenger Jeremy Kennedy (19-5), who brings a high level of experience and a diverse skillset to the tournament. Kennedy has faced some of the best featherweights in the world and will be looking to use that experience to his advantage in the PFL.
The division also features Adam Borics (19-2), a highly touted prospect with a dynamic striking game and a proven ability to finish fights. Borics is considered one of the top up-and-coming featherweights in the world and will be looking to make a statement in the PFL. The field is rounded out by Movid Khaybulaev (21-0-1), Yves Landu (21-9), Nathan Kelly (11-3), and Sang Won Kim (13-6-1), each bringing unique styles and aspirations to the tournament. Khaybulaev’s undefeated record makes him an intriguing dark horse in the division, while Landu’s experience could prove invaluable in navigating the tournament’s challenges.
The shift to a tournament format and the reduced prize of $500,000 brings exciting changes. The PFL is betting on its revamped structure to capture the attention of fight fans worldwide and establish itself as a premier destination for top MMA talent. The April 11 kickoff promises a night of intense action as these welterweight and featherweight warriors begin their quest for PFL glory.
