Predicting The Top Five NFL Wide Receivers For The 2025 Season

The NFL season is near, and the preseason has begun. Each team and its fanbase eagerly await the start of the 2025 NFL season.

Wide Receivers have become more and more valuable as the NFL has geared towards passing more.

Below, we’ll break down our prediction for the top five NFL wide receivers in 2025.

Which NFL Wide Receivers Missed The Cut In 2025?

Before getting into the top five, these are five wide receivers that just missed out on cracking the top five list:

  • Puka Nacua
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown
  • Drake London
  • Brian Thomas Jr.
  • Mike Evans

Puka Nacua

Puka Nacua has established himself as one of the best wideouts in the league over the last two years.

In 2023, he had 105 receptions, 1,486 receiving yards, and six receiving TDs. Last year, Nacua missed six games but still had 79 receptions, 990 receiving yards, and three receiving TDs.

Nacua has become a very reliable target for Matthew Stafford.

However, the reason Nacua is left off the top-five list is because of the health of Stafford. He is dealing with a back injury that will sideline him for a few weeks in camp. There is no certainty that Stafford will be healthy when the season begins.

Nacua is an elite wideout, but he will need Stafford healthy to be successful.

Amon-Ra St. Brown

Amon-Ra St. Brown has recorded 90 or more catches in four straight seasons. He has been one of the best wideouts in the league, who often gets overlooked.

St. Brown is a chain mover and is a very reliable target for Jared Goff.

The issue for St. Brown and why he is left off the top-five list is that Detroit has a lot of mouths to feed. Between Jameson Williams, Sam Laporta, Jahmyr Gibbs, and David Montgomery, this somewhat limits St. Brown’s ceiling.

Still, St. Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

Drake London

Drake London was solid in his first two seasons, but he broke out last season. In 2024, London had 100 receptions, 1,271 receiving yards, and nine receiving TDs.

When Michael Penix Jr. took over the starting role in the last three games last season, he heavily featured London. London saw eight or more targets in each of the three games Penix started. In two of the three games, London saw 13 or more targets.

This indicates that 2025 may be a massive season for London with Penix under center.

Expect a huge season for Drake London in 2025.

Brian Thomas Jr.

Brian Thomas Jr. had an excellent rookie season last year. He recorded 87 receptions, 1,282 receiving yards, and 10 receiving TDs.

He posted those numbers with Trevor Lawrence only playing in 10 games.

As Thomas enters his second season, he hopes new head coach Liam Coen will help him improve even more.

It remains to be seen if Travis Hunter will see a full-time role at wide receiver, but Thomas will thrive in 2025.

Mike Evans

Mike Evans has been one of the most consistent wide receivers over the last decade. Since 2014, Evans has recorded over 1,000 receiving yards in each season.

There have been no signs of Evans slowing down. Tampa Bay has a very good offense, and Evans remains a focal point in the passing game.

There is no denying that Evans is a future Hall of Famer, and he will once again have another good season.

Predicting The Top Five NFL Wide Receivers In 2025

Wide Receivers have become game changers and very valuable. As the NFL has emphasized the pass more in recent years, having a bona fide star at wide receiver has become much more valuable.

5. Nico Collins

Nico Collins has thrived the last two seasons, and he enters the 2025 season as the focal point of the Texans’ passing game.

Stroud targets Collins often and will need to do so again in 2025.

Collins suited up in 12 games last season, but if he can stay healthy this season, he will have a monster campaign.

Collins will solidify himself as a top-five wide receiver in 2025.

4. Malik Nabers

Malik Nabers took the league by storm in his rookie campaign. He had 109 receptions, 1,204 receiving yards, and seven receiving TDs.

Nabers posted those numbers catching passes from Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito.

This season, Nabers gets an upgrade at the QB position with Russell Wilson under center. Rookie Jaxson Dart will back up Wilson. Both are an upgrade over the QB situation the Giants had last season.

Nabers will have a fantastic 2025 campaign and be a top-five wide receiver.

3. Justin Jefferson

Justin Jefferson is simply one of the best wide receivers in the league. He has recorded over 1,400 receiving yards in four of the last five seasons. The only year he didn’t was in 2023, when he suited up in just 10 games but still had over 1,000 receiving yards.

J.J. McCarthy will take over the starting QB role, and he will rely on Jefferson a lot.

You simply can not have a top-five WR list without Jefferson included.

Jefferson is having a Hall of Fame career thus far and will have another big season in 2025.

2. Ja’Marr Chase

Ja’Marr Chase had the triple crown last season. He led the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs.

Chase is the most dangerous WR in the league and catches passes from one of the best QBs in the league.

It will be challenging for Chase to replicate his 2024 campaign, but Chase is once again poised for a monster 2025 season.

1. CeeDee Lamb

CeeDee Lamb has been one of the best wide receivers in the league since entering the NFL in 2020.

The issue for Lamb has been the health of Dak Prescott. Prescott played in just eight games last year and 12 games in 2022.

When Prescott is healthy, Lamb puts up numbers similar to Chase and Jefferson.

George Pickens will be the WR2 in Dallas. Some think this may hurt Lamb’s production, but the opposite will happen. Pickens will not allow teams to double-team Lamb often. This will give Lamb the chance to succeed even more.

If Prescott can remain healthy, Lamb will have the best season of any wide receiver in the NFL in 2025.
