The Cleveland Browns finally received a legal update regarding rookie running back Quinshon Judkins.

NFL Media obtained the memorandum from the Broward County (Florida) Attorney’s Office. Judkins will not face charges for misdemeanor battery for an alleged domestic incident.
Last month, Judkins was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence and battery charge. Five days before the arrest, Judkins allegedly punched a woman while driving in a vehicle away from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Judkins allegedly struck her in the thigh and left arm.
The woman presented photographs of her bruises to the officers.
After reviewing the police reports, photos, phone records, body-worn camera videos, video surveillance, and the sworn statement from the victim, the prosecutors have decided not to pursue charges.
“The incident was not captured on any video surveillance,” the memo reads. “There are no independent witnesses to the incident. Although the victim had photos showing injuries sustained, there were also videos in that same time frame where no injuries were observed to the victim. Additionally, the victim’s injuries depicted in the photos could be explained by either account of the incident.
“Finally, there was a delayed report of the incident. The delay is problematic as the victim was alone on numerous occasions without the Defendant, had the ability and resources to make the report without his knowledge, but chose not to do so. For the reasons set forth above, there is no reasonable likelihood of conviction and this case is being declined.”

Judkins will not face any legal charges, clearing his return to the field. However, there are a few obstacles standing in his way.
Judkins, the No. 36 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, remains unsigned. Once the running back signs a contract, he can begin practicing with the Browns.
Even though Judkins will not face any criminal punishment, the NFL could still discipline the rookie for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
“We have been following developments in the matter, which remains under review,” a spokesperson said via NFL Network.
Before his legal situation, Judkins was in line to compete for the starting running back position.
After back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, Judkins left Ole Miss and transferred to Ohio State ahead of the 2024 season.
Judkins rushed for 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns in 16 games for the Buckeyes, capped off by a three-touchdown performance in Ohio State’s victory over Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff National Championship.
