Higher expectations in Detroit

The Red Wings have missed the playoffs for nine straight seasons and everyone is starting to get a little bit impatient. This is Hockeytown don’t forget, and this is a franchise that made the playoffs for 25 straight seasons from 1990 to 2016. Things did not look good in Motown to begin the season as Detroit lost 5-1 to the Montreal Canadiens, but since then they have won five straight games.
