JT Miller

Vancouver Canucks forward JT Miller has been on an indefinite leave of absence from his team since November 19.  No one knows when he will make his return.

USA Hockey either has insider information or is optimistic that Miller will return to the ice soon.  They expect Miller to be available for the 4 Nations Face-Off in February.  This is significant because the team rosters (USA, Finland, Canada, Sweden) will be announced on December 4.

Miller should come back when he is ready, but Canucks fans eagerly await his return.  Hockey insider Elliott Friedman believes Miller could rejoin the Canucks after their road trip concludes on December 3.  He is indicating that “burnout” is the cause of his break.

JT Miller is no stranger to representing his country in international hockey competitions. In junior hockey, he was a member of four US teams from 2010-2013, three of which won gold medals.

The New York Rangers Inquired About JT Miller

It is not shocking that the New York Rangers are interested in JT Miller.  Miller was drafted 11th overall by the New York Rangers in 2011.  The team was interested in a reunion with him before the 2021-2022 trade deadline.

There is no official word on how the Canucks responded to the Rangers.  The Canucks have protected his privacy and supported him since announcing his leave.  It seems unlikely they would engage in discussions to move him.

4 Nations Face-Off Roster Reveal Is Happening On Wednesday

In the meantime, fans are excited to see who else will be on Team USA’s roster when it is announced Wednesday afternoon.   Twenty skaters and three goalies will be selected.
