The five-star running back out of Louisa County (VA) has now completed official visits to Ohio State and Georgia, with Michigan and Tennessee still to come. While Michigan remains the favorite, Georgia’s pitch has gained real traction. Who Is Savion Hiter? Five-star RB from Louisa County, VA Ranked No. 17 nationally, No. 1 RB 5’11”, 200 lb with elite athletic testing 1,698 rushing yards and 26 TDs in 2023 Also had 7 sacks and 3 return TDs Hiter is explosive, productive, and versatile. He can be used as a workhorse or a matchup problem in space. Some schools like him on defense too, but he’s going to play running back in college. Official Visit Dates for Hiter Ohio State – May 31 to June 2 Georgia – June 6 to 8 Michigan – June 13 to 15 Tennessee – June 21 to 23 How Hiter’s Visits Have Gone So Far Thank you @GeorgiaFootball for having my family and I this weekend 🙏🏾 how ‘bout them dawgs 🐶 #GoDawgs pic.twitter.com/X1tpDObP6B — Savion “Cinco” Hiter (High-ter) (@5starsavi) June 9, 2025 His first visit was to Ohio State. Hiter had good things to say about it, but it didn’t seem to move the needle much. OSU is still in the mix, but they’re no longer pushing at the top. The Georgia visit, though, was different. Hiter praised the staff, facilities, and academic setup. He also posted publicly about the visit and came away calling Georgia a “real contender.” It didn’t push them into the lead, but they’re now clearly in second and closing the gap. Why Michigan Still Leads Perfect scheme fit Track record with RBs like Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards Families involved early Tony Alford driving the push Michigan checks every box for Hiter. Their offensive scheme fits his skillset, they’ve produced NFL backs in recent years, and they’ve been recruiting him with consistency since early in the process. Running backs coach Tony Alford has been especially aggressive—he previously recruited Hiter at Ohio State and picked up right where he left off when he joined Michigan’s staff. The Wolverines have also done well with his family. Hiter has emphasized that NIL won’t decide his commitment, and Michigan’s genuine, consistent communication has been one of the key reasons they’re still out in front. His official visit to Ann Arbor is set for June 13–15. If it goes as well as expected, Michigan will likely remain in pole position. Hiter Prediction Georgia helped itself during its official, but Michigan still feels like the leader heading into the final round of visits. Tennessee will get the last chance in late June, but they’re running behind. This race isn’t over. But if Michigan delivers the kind of visit it’s capable of, it’ll be hard for anyone else to catch up. Hiter hasn’t named a commitment date yet, but most expect a decision not long after his officials are done.
