The Oklahoma City Thunder hosted the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday evening. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder defeated the Grizzlies earlier in the year, 114-100.Â
On Monday, OKC walked away with a 119-103 win. Now, the Thunder are 26-3. That is the top record in the West by four and a half games. Leading the way scoring for the Thunder on Monday was 2024-25 NBA MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He finished the game with 31 points. SGA made NBA history vs. the Grizzlies. He is the second player to score 20+ points in 100 consecutive regular-season games.
OKC’s MVP PG continues to etch his name in the history books

Over the last six years, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has become a household name in the NBA. The 27-year-old has put in the work to be one of the top players in the NBA. Last season, SGA took home his first MVP trophy. In 2025-26, he’s continued to play at a similar level. On Monday, December 22, the Thunder hosted the Grizzlies. OKC beat Memphis 119-103 for their 26th win of the season.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 31 points vs. the Grizzlies on Monday. The three-time all-star made NBA history vs. Memphis. That was Gilgeous-Alexander’s 100th consecutive game with at least 20+ points. He joins Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain as the only player to accomplish that feat. His record is 126 straight games with at least 20+ points. Chamberlain set that record between 1961 and 1963.

After the game, OKC head coach Mark Daigneault had extremely high praise for his MVP PG. Daigneault said it is not an accident that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is in this position. He said SGA has ” literally chiseled himself into this player.” Talent is one level of the game. The desire and willingness to be one of the greats is not something every player has. Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the special players with both.
To break Wilt Chamberlain’s record, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would need 27 straight games with 20+ points. He’s already done that in 100 consecutive games. What’s stopping him from continuing that streak? The 27-year-old has missed just one game for OKC this season. If SGA continues to score 20+ points, he could break Wilt Chamberlain’s record of 126 games by the end of February. We’ll have to wait and see if Shai Gilgeous-Alexander breaks a record that has been standing for 60+ years.
