Spurs Extend Win Streak To Seven Games For First Time Since 2018–19

Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs were home Tuesday night to face the Thunder. San Antonio had already beaten Oklahoma City earlier in the year. The team had the confidence to accomplish that again.

A 43-point fourth quarter by the Spurs made the final score appear more lopsided. San Antonio won 130-110 vs. a talented Thunder squad on Tuesday. For the Spurs, they improved their record to 22-7 in 2025-26.  The team is now in second place in the Western Conference. Oklahoma City has won seven consecutive games. It’s their longest win streak since the 2018-29 season.

San Antonio is thriving in December 2025

Through the draft, trades, and free agency, the San Antonio Spurs have been building a contender over the last few seasons. It all started when they landed the #1 pick in the 2023 NBA draft. That gave the Spurs the right to select Victor Wembanyama out of France. The 21-year-old has changed the trajectory of the franchise. San Antonio went all-in at the 2024-25 trade deadline and acquired De’Aaron Fox from the Kings.

During the 2024 NBA draft, the Spurs selected Stephon Castle out of UConn. The young guard has been a difference-maker since joining the team. Additionally, the team added pieces via free agency in the 2025 offseason and the NBA draft. With the roster they created, the Spurs are enjoying a strong start to the 2025-26 season. They are 22-7, the second-best record in the West. Only three and a half games behind the Thunder.

San Antonio was at home on Tuesday evening to face Oklahoma City. It was their second matchup in 10 days. The Spurs will be on the road on Christmas Day for another battle with the Thunder. With the win on Tuesday vs. OKC, the Spurs extended their win streak to seven games. That is the franchise’s longest win streak since the 2018-19 season.

Leading the way in scoring for the Spurs on Tuesday was Keldon Johnson. He came off the bench and dropped 25 points for San Antonio. He was 10-16 from the field and 5-9 from beyond the arc. Victor Wembanyama came off the bench as well and recorded 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists in 23 minutes. Can the Spurs be the first team to hand Thunder back-to-back losses in 2025-26? They meet on Christmas Day at 2:30 p.m. EST.
