Per Jonathan M. Alexander, the Texans will allow Diggs to “test the market.”
Alexander’s report states the “door will remain open” for a return, as general manager Nick Caserio and head coach DeMeco Ryans are interested in re-signing Diggs if it’s the right price.
In April 2024, the Bills traded Diggs, a 2024 sixth-round pick, and a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Houston Texans for a 2025 second-round pick.
Diggs also restructured his deal upon arriving in Houston. Diggs had two years remaining on his contract. The Texans reworked the contract into a one-year deal worth $22.52 million.
Diggs caught 47 passes for 496 yards and three touchdowns in eight games. Diggs suffered a season-ending ACL injury in Week 8.

The Texans like Diggs and want him but there is a real market for Diggs despite the injury.

When Diggs hits free agency, expect teams to be interested in signing the wide receiver to a short-term contract.
The New England Patriots (+300) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (+400) desperately need help at wide receiver.
The Patriots need a true No. 1 option, while the Steelers need another pass-catcher to pair alongside George Pickens.
The Dallas Cowboys (+500) are an interesting option. Football-wise, the Cowboys need a No. 2 receiver behind CeeDee Lamb.
The Cowboys also have the personal advantage, as Diggs’ younger brother Trevon is a cornerback for the team.
