Stephen A. Smith and Inside the NBA’s crew will be teammates starting next season. Until then, they will be rivals in Saturday’s free-throw contest.

Stephen A. Smith vs. Inside The NBA Free-Throw Contest

On Saturday, Dec. 14, TNT will broadcast the Emirates NBA Cup semifinals from Las Vegas.

The Inside the NBA crew will host the pregame show starting at 3:30 p.m. ET before the first game tips at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Smith, who will be in attendance for ESPN, has challenged a member of the Inside the NBA crew to a free-throw contest.

Smith will face Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, or Charles Barkley.

Kenny Smith is the best shooter from behind the line, with a career free throw percentage of 82.9%. Meanwhile, Shaq and Barkley shot 52.7% and 73.5% from the free-throw line, respectively.

Stephen A. Smith Responds

Stephen A. is never one to back down from a challenge. The ESPN personality watched the foursome discuss the free-throw challenge on Tuesday night’s Inside the NBA and responded in confident fashion.

This ain’t a first pitch fellas. I’ll give @TheJetOnTNT a chance in a FT contest — Queens (NY) in the building,” Smith wrote on X. “I’m beating Chuck. @SHAQ? Why are you even talking? NO CHANCE. @TurnerSportsEJ: I humbly stand down to you, sir. See y’all this Saturday. Love y’all”

No matter who faces Smith in the free-throw challenge, it will be entertaining.
