Can you imagine being the son of Swedish tennis legend Bjorn Borg and trying to make your own name and career in professional tennis? Leo Borg, 22, is trying to do just that.
As a wildcard player, he secured a big first round win at his home tournament, the BNP Paribas Nordic Open, over Sebastian Ofner in straight sets.

His result mirrors his dad’s last result at the home tournament.

Ofner is a former World No. 37 who is currently ranked 140th.
Borg is currently 622nd but has been has high as World No. 334.
With the win, Leon Borg sets up a second round matchup against former Top 10 player Dennis Shapovalov who has battled injuries in recent years but is back in Top 25 at World No. 23.
It goes without saying what a statement win that would be for Borg if he could amass the upset.
Leo Borg Also Competed In Doubles
Fans almost got a double dose of Leo Borg in the second round. He and Swedish partner Nikola Slavic lost in straight sets.
For those wondering if the elder Borg was present, he was not shown on camera. He could have been there in a discreet place.
Bjorn Borg recently released a tell-all autobiography entited “Heartbeats” which discussed his post playing alcohol and drug use after retiring at age 26. He also recounted his recent battle with prostate cancer.
Tennis Kids Trying To Make Their Way
Leo Borg is just one of the tennis kids who is trying to forge his own career. Cruz Hewitt, son of Lleyton Hewitt is another. Brandon Holt, son of Tracy Austin, and Jagger Leach, son of Lindsay Davenport, are others.
Among those who have successfully creating their own paths by winning ATP tournaments are Ben Shelton, son of Bryan Shelton, Sebastian Korda, son of Petr Korda, and Casper Ruud, son of Christian Ruud.
Pursuing a professional tennis career is very difficult and carrying the family name and reputation adds more pressure for these players.
