It’s a love story, and she said yes.
In an Instagram post shared by Kelce and Swift, the couple announced their engagement. The caption reads, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
The carousel included five photos from the engagement, including one with Kelce on one knee and another of the ring on Swift’s finger.
The Chiefs’ tight end and Red singer began dating in the summer of 2023. During the Chiefs’ season, Swift started attending Chiefs’ games and sitting in Kelce’s box alongside his mother, Donna.
Swift famously ended the Chiefs’ entire playoff run, which ended in a victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. Swift and Kelce embraced on the field to celebrate.
Earlier this summer, Swift appeared at Kelce’s Tight End University and performed an impromptu version of Shake It Off.

Taylor Swift Appears On Travis Kelce’s New Heights Podcast
Before this engagement post eventually breaks the internet, Swift participated in an interview on New Heights, a popular podcast hosted by Kelce and his older brother, Jason.
Swift’s August 12th appearance broke a Guinness World Record for most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube with a total of 1.3 million.
Swift shared the cover and release date for her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. The album is scheduled to be released on October 3, 2025.
“This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during [the Eras Tour],” Swift explained during the interview. “[The album is] a lot more upbeat, and it’s a lot more fun pop excitement. My main goals were melodies that were so infectious, you’re almost angry at it.”
The two-hour conversation covered a lot of ground in Swift’s life, including her romance with the Chiefs’ star, the process of buying back her Masters, the overwhelming success of The Eras Tour, and her newfound love for football.
On their first date, Swift asked about how it felt for Kelce to play his brother in the Super Bowl.
“On our first date, I legitimately asked him what it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl, and he looked across the field across the line of scrimmage and saw his brother standing … five feet in front of him on the field,” Swift said.
Kelce interrupted and explained that the brothers are never on the field at the same time. Swift later laughed about the mistake.
“Like, I now know what an insane question that was,” Swift continued. “He was like, ‘Actually, I’m on the offense, and my brother’s on the offense, and I’m only on the field at the same time as the defense.’ I thought everyone was on the field at the same time.”
