After building the No. 1-ranked 2025 class, the Longhorns are now aggressively loading up for 2026 — and just had a massive June weekend. Several of the Longhorns’ key targets for 2026 just made the commitment to attend Austin in the near future. June 7–9: Massive Weekend for 2026 Longhorns Class Over a three-day stretch, Texas landed four new 2026 pledges — a clear signal that the Longhorns are moving fast on their next cycle: Dylan Berymon, 4-star DL — committed June 7 Kohen Brown, 3-star WR (Waxahachie, TX) — committed June 8 Jake Collett, 3-star K — committed June 8 Corey Wells, 4-star DL (MS) — committed June 9 Wells stands out as a 6′5″, 300-pound interior lineman ranked among Mississippi’s top 10 players. Brown brings speed at receiver, while Collett becomes the first specialist commit in this cycle. Texas now holds early momentum in 2026 and is building on its 2025 recruiting foundation. Texas in the Mix for Several 5-Stars The Longhorns are staying aggressive with high-end juniors and recent decommits: Xavier Griffin, 5-star LB — decommitted from USC in May and scheduled an official visit to Texas for June 13 Lamar Brown, 5-star DL — No. 1 overall player in ESPN300; visited Texas the first week of June Griffin is being recruited hard by EDGE coach La’Allan Clark, who sees him as a hybrid linebacker-pass rusher in the Texas defense. Brown, from Baton Rouge, is still leaning LSU ahead of his July 10 decision, but Texas made its case during his Austin official. Elijah Ojo Trending Away Not all the news is positive. Four-star 2025 DB Elijah Ojo (CA) was once set to officially visit Texas on June 13 but may not follow through. Ojo now says Ohio State and Texas Tech are pushing hardest. Texas appears to be out of the mix. The Longhorns are clearly focusing more on 2026 now, but they’ll still need to close strong in the 2025 cycle. Either way, Texas has serious recruiting momentum right now. Written by Sports EditorDavid Evans David Evans is an experienced sports journalist with over 15 years in the field.
