NFL Free Agency 2025 Winners & Losers: Which Teams Have Made The Best & Worst Moves So Far?

NFL Free Agency has begun, and many players are set to join new teams once the new year starts on Wednesday, March 12.
Some teams have drastically improved while other teams have lost key players.
Below are the winners and losers of NFL Free Agency.
Winners & Losers Of NFL Free Agency
With many players set to sign a contract with a new team, below are the winners and losers of Free Agency.
Winners Of NFL Free Agency
The winners of NFL Free Agency are below:
Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears, most importantly Caleb Williams have been big winners in free agency.
They acquired guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson last week and on Monday, they signed the top center on the market, Drew Dalman. Thuney, Jackson, and Dalman are an experienced interior trio that should help both Williams and young tackles Braxton Jones and Darnell Wright.
Ben Johnson had great success with the Detroit Lions as the offensive coordinator due to having a top offensive line. He is trying to build the same for the Bears.
Boosting the offensive line will not just help young QB Caleb Williams improve but it will also help improve a rush attack that was non-existent last season.
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots were the biggest spenders on Monday.
Signing defensive tackle Milton Williams to a four-year $104 million contract was the splashiest move.
They also signed CB Carlton Davis to a three-year contract worth up to $60 million. Linebacker Harold Landry was brought in on a three-year deal worth $43.5 million with $26 million guaranteed.
New England also brought in linebacker Robert Spillane and offensive tackle Morgan Moses.
This is all an attempt to boost the roster and help Drake Maye improve.
Mike Vrabel must be happy with Robert Kraft opening up the checkbook this offseason.
Los Angeles Rams
While the Rams are set to lose WR Cooper Kupp, they brought in WR Davante Adams, who had a good season last year with the Jets.
Adams will now join a stacked Rams offense catching passes from Matthew Stafford, who was re-signed to a new deal and was not traded. Puka Nacua and Adams form a dangerous wide-receiver duo. Kyren Williams makes this a lethal trio that one could argue is the best trio in the league.
When it looked like the Rams were going to be in rebuild mode, they signed Stafford to a new deal and brought in Davante Adams to pair with Nacua.
Losers Of NFL Free Agency
The losers of NFL Free Agency are below:
Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals have done nothing to ensure Joe Burrow keeps the star players he has stated he wants to keep.
No deal has been reached with WRs Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Star defensive end Trey Hendrickson has not been signed to a new deal.
With Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby signing brand new deals, this set the market for Hendrickson. The Bengals are late to the party and Hendrickson will want deals similar to Garrett and Crosby. The longer a team waits to re-sign a player, the higher the price is.
This is not what Joe Burrow wanted. He stated numerous times he wants the star players to return with new deals.
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers have lost numerous players in free agency.
Deebo Samuel was traded to Washington. Dre Greenlaw, Charvarius Ward, and Aaron Banks are all expected to be on new teams, having agreed to new deals on Monday. It will all be made official on Wednesday. Javon Hargrave is a free agent and will certainly be on a new team. The 49ers are expected to cut fullback Kyle Juszczyk.
San Francisco is going to look very differently in 2025.
Cleveland Browns
Sure the Cleveland Browns signed star defensive player Myles Garrett to a huge new deal but they won just three games last season with Garrett.
They have no QB. Nick Chubb is expected to be test free agency.
There is no offensive firepower with this team at all.
Barring the Browns trading up to draft QB Cam Ward first overall, they will enter the 2025 season in a terrible QB situation.
Myles Garrett did nothing to help the Browns win games last season.
