Tickets To See Caitlin Clark Return To Iowa Sold Out In 15 Minutes

She spent four years playing home games inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena on the University of Iowa campus. It was there that she rose to fame, becoming one of the greatest college basketball players of all-time, cementing herself as the face of the sport. This coming May, Caitlin Clark will make her return to the place where her fame and popularity exploded, as her Indiana Fever are scheduled to play an exhibition game on her old college campus.
Tickets To See Caitlin Clark Sell Out In 15 Minutes
As predicted, the anticipation for the event is through the roof. According to reports, all 15,000 available tickets were sold out within 15 minutes of them hitting the market.
Clark had instant success in her first year in the WNBA. She not only won the Rookie of the Year award, but was named to the All-WNBA First Team, and led the entire league in assists. Her 122 made three pointers were 10 more than any other player. The Indiana Fever were 13-27 the year before she arrived, and that mark was improved to 20-20 during Clark’s first season.
Before their season officially kicks off in mid-May, the Fever will be making a special trip back to her college campus. A May 4th exhibition game will be played at Carver-Hawkeye, a face off between the Fever and the Brazilian national team. It was predicted that there would be a rush for tickets to see Caitlin Clark back on her old stomping grounds, and that held true when they went on sale on Thursday morning.

There were supposed to be three waves of ticket sales. First dibs would be given to Iowa Women’s Basketball season ticket holders, with the “pre-sale” starting at 9AM CT. Four hours later, tickets would be made available to Fever season ticket holders. Then, the general public would be able to buy on Friday.
The tickets didn’t make it past 9:15AM. According to Joe Pompliano, all 15,000 tickets were sold out within the first 15 minutes of the pre-sale.
Depending on location, seats ranged everywhere from $60 to $250 during the pre-sale, and the prices have skyrocketed on the secondary market. Just minutes after people secured tickets, some started popping up on secondary market sites. Those prices were listed between $600 and $1,000 in the early hours.
Caitlin Clark has made multiple returns to the Iowa campus during the current college basketball season, including for jer jersey retirement ceremony. The exhibition game on May 4th will be the first time that she returns as a player.
