Jaycee Horn Resets Cornerback Market

The Carolina Panthers have rewarded their lockdown cornerback with a lucrative extension.

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Horn and the Panthers have agreed to terms on a four-year, $100 million contract, including $70 million guaranteed.

Horn’s deal could reach $108 million with incentives.

The Panthers selected Horn with the eighth pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

After injuries plagued his first three seasons, Horn started in 15 games in 2024.

Horn became one of the best cover corners in the NFL, registering one interception, 13 pass break-ups, and 2.0 sacks. Horn was named to his first Pro Bowl.

Horn has five interceptions, 26 passes defensed, two sacks, and eight tackles for loss in 37 career games.

With his new contract, Horn is now the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL at $25 million annually.

Horn is also the highest-paid Panther, surpassing defensive tackle Derrick Brown’s $24 million per season.

Miami’s Jalen Ramsey was previously the highest-paid cornerback at $24.1 million, followed by Denver’s Patrick Surtain, the 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, at $24 million.

Horn will likely be the highest-paid player at the position until New York’s Sauce Gardner signs a contract extension. Gardner is heading into his fourth season with the Jets and will likely receive an extension this offseason or the next.
