The Cincinnati Bengals struggled on the defensive side of the ball in 2024, and things could be make even tougher for them for the upcoming year. Edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, who has been the key piece on their defense for the past few years, has been given permission to seek a trade.

He should have a robust market, as he was the far-and-away leader in the NFL in sacks last season, and the Bengals are reportedly sticking to a high asking price for the 30-year-old.

Which Team Will Trade For Trey Hendrickson This Off-Season?

Which teams will be interested? Here are the three betting favorites with the shortest odds of landing Hendrickson via trade this off-season:

Washington Commanders (+150)

The Commanders ranked 12th in the NFL in total sacks in 2024, and ranked in the middle of the pack in most of the other pass-rushing statistics. They’ll look to bolster their defensive attack in 2025 to capitalize on their deep playoff run last year. In order to do so, they’ll have to find someone to replace their sack leader from a season ago, as Dante Fowler is now a free agent.

Could they allocate some assets to trade for Hendrickson? Washington currently has the second-most cap space of any team in the league at just shy of $94 million, so they have some wiggle room financially to be able to take on a big name player at a position of need. The Commanders are listed as the betting favorite to land Hendrickson, with a current listing of +150.

Chicago Bears (+300)

The Bears already have one of the highest-paid pass rushers in the NFL in Montez Sweat, and rank 18th in available cap space. But the sportsbooks have Chicago as one of the most likely destinations for Trey Hendrickson, coming in behind only the Commanders with a listing of +300. They were slightly below average in their pass rushing stats in 2024, and new head coach Ben Johnson will certainly be looking to fortify his defense in order to compliment the offensive side of the ball.

There is a connection with the defensive coordinator, as Hendricks played under the tutelage of Dennis Allen with the Saints from 2017 until 2020.

Green Bay Packers (+500)

The Packers will have to make some moves and adjustments this off-season in order to keep up with the rest of the NFC North, but should an expensive pass rusher be on their wish list? The oddsmakers say so, giving them the third-lowest odds listing of any team to land Hendrickson, coming in with a designation of +500. Their GM has already said publicly that the team needs to get better at rushing the passer with only four players, so an edge threat is certainly on their wish list.

But they already have big money tied up in a pass rushing linebacker as Rashan Gary is owed over $25 million in 2025, and they may need help in other areas like wide receiver and cornerback.
