Following an impressive performance in the Sugar Bowl, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss could now be an intriguing option for several teams in the upcoming NFL Draft.

This time last year, Chambliss was coming off a Division II national championship with Ferris State.
Now, Chambliss is the talk of Division I.
Chambliss finished 30 of 46 for 362 yards and two touchdowns in the Rebels’ 39-34 victory over Georgia in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinals.
Chambliss’ athleticism was on full display last night, as he evaded the Georgia pass rush to deliver spectacular throws.
The Rebels (13-1) won their second playoff game under Pete Golding, the defensive coordinator who was promoted to head coach after Lane Kiffin left for LSU.
With the win, Ole Miss moves on to the semifinals to play Miami in the Fiesta Bowl.
Chambliss came to Ole Miss believing he would be the backup quarterback. Now, his career might continue in the pros.
The 23-year-old quarterback is awaiting a response from the NCAA after requesting a waiver for another year of eligibility. If granted, there have been rumors that he could follow Kiffin to LSU.
The transfer portal window runs from January 2 through January 16, meaning Chambliss needs to be granted his waiver within the next two weeks for him to play in 2026.
If the waiver is denied, Chambliss might have options at the NFL level if he declares for the draft.
Before the season, Chambliss was never mentioned with the likes of Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore, the top two quarterback prospects in this upcoming draft class. Chambliss’ size — 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds — is one of his biggest knocks, with many draft experts calling him a Day 3 selection.
After the Georgia game, Chambliss’ stock is soaring. The Ole Miss quarterback now finds himself as a Day 2 option on some mocks. Behind Mendoza and Moore, Alabama’s Ty Simpson has been the name you’ll find the most as the No. 3 quarterback in this year’s class.
If Chambliss can lead Ole Miss to a national championship, could Chambliss grab that No. 3 spot from Simpson? It’s not out of the realm of possibility.

Ole Miss continues to block out the noise, defy the odds, and advance in the College Football Playoff.
The Rebels are now two wins away from their first national championship since 1960.
When Ole Miss plays Miami on Jan. 8, they might not have their entire coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., tight ends coach/co-offensive coordinator Joe Cox, wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator George McDonald, and running backs coach Kevin Smith are all set to join Kiffin at LSU.
With the transfer portal opening on January 2, it’s unknown if the Ole Miss assistants will be allowed to coach in the Fiesta Bowl.
