Troy Aikman Gives Tom Brady Advice Ahead Of Super Bowl Announcing Debut

Tom Brady is as experienced as they come when it comes to playing in the Super Bowl, yet he will be making his debut in a different role when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9.
The NFL icon holds the record for the most Super Bowl rings won by a player with seven.
Brady switched to the announcing desk after his retirement as a player and is coming to the end of his first season with Fox Sports – after joining on a 10-year $375m deal.
At Super Bowl 2025, Brady will call the biggest game of his career to date when the Chiefs take on the Eagles.
Troy Aikman, who won three championships with the Dallas Cowboys, was another former quarter-back to switch to the announcing booth – working on ESPN Monday Night Football.
Brady has received some advice from Aikman, with just over a week to go until the Super Bowl.
Tom Brady Receives Advice Ahead Of Super Bowl Announcing Debut
Tom Brady has been told that Super Bowl 2025 will feel like a game different to any other as he calls the NFL’s biggest game for the first time.
Troy Aikman told Sports Illustrated: “Preparation, was always the key for me as a player, it’s the key for me as a broadcaster. The more prepared I am, the better I feel about knowing both teams.
He added: “For anyone who’s played in a Super Bowl, to say ‘Well the Super Bowl is just like any other game’ they’ve not played in it. Because it’s not.’
Aikman went on to say that the “entire day” at the Super Bowl is different to what Brady would have experienced before.
“As soon as you win the championship game, you know that Super Bowl is unlike any other game that you’ll play in. And the same is true as a broadcaster. The entire day is different.
“When you first do your hit on the pregame or even right before you go on-air, the timing is very different. The halftime is very different. But eventually, like it does as a player, things settle in.”
Will Tom Brady Return To Announcing Next Season?
Ahead of the Super Bowl, Tom Brady’s status at Fox has been questioned after becoming a limited owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Brady’s relationship with Fox caused issues when the NFL approved him as a limited owner of the Raiders.
However, in an interview with the Sports Business Journal Don Yee, Brady’s agent, said his client intends to honor his contract and return to the Fox broadcast booth next season.
“Tom has had a tremendous amount of fun working with Fox this year, and he’s really excited about the future with Fox and his growth on their team,” Yee said. “And this year was the first year of a long relationship.”
