NFL fans have taken to Twitter with their reactions to a stunning first-half of the Super Bowl as the Philadelphia Eagles took a 24-0 lead against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs went into the biggest game of the sporting calendar knowing that they could write their names in the history book.
A victory over the Eagles would mean they would be the first NFL team to win a Super Bowl three-peat.
However, it was a half in which they struggled – in particular their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes who was sacked three times during the first-half.
Mahomes has famously struggled in the first-half of previous Super Bowls which the Chiefs have come back to mount a victory. However, fans were left stunned by his struggles this time around.

It wasn’t just Mahomes who took criticism on social media however, as fans ripped into the Chiefs as a collective.
One person wrote that the Chiefs looked ‘exhausted mentally and physically’ and were making dumb mistakes.
Another took a dig at the New England Patriots writing: “Bold move by the Chiefs to start the Patriots’ offensive line.”
While Linda Cohn of Sportscenter said: “Eagles defense reminds me of the Buccaneers D when they smothered Mahomes.”
It was an ugly first half for the Chiefs going off Twitter reaction and it left them with a huge up-hill task in the second half of the Super Bowl.
