Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was on his way to having one of his best games of the season versus the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. Hill had six catches for 67 yards before suffering an apparent knee injury shortly after halftime.
With 13:23 remaining in the third quarter, Hill was tackled from behind while going out of bounds after securing an out route by Jets safety Malachi Moore. Hill’s knee was clearly dislocated and it was immediately clear that the Dolphins’ wideout had suffered a gruesome injury. Players on both teams kneeled on the field to pay their respects to one of the game’s top wide receivers before he was carted off of the field.
But on his way out of the stadium, Hill was seen clapping and screaming “Yes”, prompting many fans to question his reaction to what was undoubtedly a season-ending injury.
Some fans even commented that Hill was celebrating the fact that he won’t have to play with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa anymore.

Hill suffered a dislocated knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, in the victory over the Jets, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Hill had successful surgery and is expected to return to the field in 2026.
Yet, after the game, he was caught smiling from ear to ear in the ambulance, despite likely knowing his season was over.

Hill Will Likely Be Released Before The 2026 Season
Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus made a TV appearance after the procedure to discuss severity of his client’s injury.
“All of the torn ligaments went back into place, there is no nerve damage, there is no blood flow issues or broken bones and his knee cartilage is fine. The goal is for him to be ready next season,” Rosenhaus said.
Hill will be out for the remainder of the season and could be released by the Dolphins before the start of the 2026 campaign.
That’s because he’s owed $36 million next season, none of which is currently guaranteed and releasing him could save the Dolphins $23 million in dead cap.
Hill’s contract also contained $1.8M of per-game-active roster bonuses in 2025, $1.4M of which he’ll now miss out on, according to Spotrac.
Tagovailoa’s Comments Reignite Rumors of Beef With Tyreek Hill
Speaking of Tagovailoa, he had an interesting reaction to the victory during his post-game interview.
“All glory belongs to God.” Tagovailoa said after the game. “I just want him for this victory for us, keeping us safe for the most part.”

He appeared to double down on his comments after the game.
During the offseason, reports surfaced that there was trouble brewing between the Dolphins quarterback and his top target but that was supposedly put to rest before the start of training camp. Obviously, looking back on it now, it seems like both Tagovailoa and Hill never got back on the same page, both on and off the field.
For now, it appears that they have played their last games together as teammates, much to the relief of both players.
