About 12 hours after he suffered a gruesome leg injury that ultimately ended his season, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill underwent surgery. Reports say that he’s been upbeat and positive about the entire process, and his social media posts throughout Monday night and Tuesday morning seem to confirm that notion.
Tyreek Hill Posts On Social Media Before Leg Surgery
During the third quarter of Monday night’s game between the Dolphins and Jets, the speedy wide receiver caught a pass along the sideline and was tackled awkwardly. Cameras caught stomach-churning images of Hill’s leg bent the wrong way, and he was immediately tended to by trainers from both teams. He was eventually placed on a cart and wheeled off of the field, and it quickly became apparent that the injury would be a season, or maybe even career altering one.

Interestingly, Tyreek Hill was clapping, smiling, and even laughing during the cart ride back into the locker room.
The smiles haven’t stopped. Hill posted multiple photos to his Snapchat story during the late hours of Monday night, including images from inside the ambulance, where he was flanked by his agent and his mother. On Tuesday morning, he uploaded a photo to his Instagram that showed him in a hospital bed, prepped and ready for surgery. The caption on the picture read “Here we go” and included emojis.
Then, a video update was uploaded. From the hospital bed, Hill thanked Dolphins fans and the NFL community as a whole for their support, saying that he was honored by it all. He finished with, “Hope to see you soon.”

It is certain that his 2025 season is over, but the football future of Tyreek Hill is now in question. Some medical experts have cautioned to a long and extensive recovery, with some believing that he may not even be ready for 2026. For an aging player that relies on speed as his most valuable asset, it is likely that the former All-Pro will never be the same.
It is even more likely that he has played his final game for the Miami Dolphins.
