Tyreek Hill Is A Heavy Underdog For His Race Against Noah Lyles

The back and forth between two of the fastest men in sports might finally be put to rest in 2025. In a joint interview with People Magazine this past week, NFL star Tyreek Hill and Olympic gold medal winner Noah Lyles confirmed that they would compete in a footrace sometime in Spring or Summer, in order to finally but the debate between the two to rest.
It has been a long time coming. The two have been trading barbs through the media and via their own social media accounts since at least last summer.
Tyreek Hill Listed As Heavy Underdog Against Noah Lyles
Lyles has been known as one of the fastest men on the planet in recent years. He holds the third-fastest 200m time in history, and is a six-time world champion to go along with the gold medal that he won during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has widely been considered the fastest player in the NFL, hence the nickname of “Cheetah”, having blown past defenders on the field for the entirety of his career.
During an interview leading up to the 2024 NFL season, Hill was asked in an interview if he thought he could beat Lyles in a footrace. Without hesitation, Hill stated, “I would beat Noah Lyles.” Most recently, seconds after his 60m victory at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, Lyles pulled out a note and held it over his face. It read, “Tyreek Could Never.”

That was apparently the call for Hill to finally agree to a footrace with the Olympic champion. The two confirmed as much during the People Magazine interview. The event will take place some time during the Spring or Summer, though the exact date has not yet been set. The distance of the race hasn’t been determined either, with 100m and 40m being among the possibilities.
The sportsbooks have wasted no time in placing odds on the event. Noah Lyles comes in as a heavy favorite over Tyreek Hill, no matter what distance the two end up agreeing on. Hill is listed at +900 for a 100m race, +400 for a 50m, and +250 for 40m.
Lyles has the same confidence in himself as the oddsmakers do. “I think it speaks for itself,” Lyles said of the sign that he held up. “I did it at the Olympics. I do it at the world championships. I do it wherever it’s needed to be done. And if I gotta go down and, you know, beat up on Tyreek to prove that I’m the world’s fastest, then it’s gonna be done”
