The Miami Dolphins announced on Wednesday that they would be benching quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and making rookie Quinn Ewers the starter. And it didn’t take long for the team’s outspoken, injured wide receiver to weigh in on the situation.
Tyreek Hill Reacts To Dolphins Benching Tua Tagovailoa
Tyreek Hill has been in Miami for the last four seasons. Arriving as one of the top players in the NFL, Hill’s early connection with Tagovailoa was undeniable. His first two years with the Dolphins saw him set career highs in yardage, as he amassed over 3,500 and scored 20 touchdowns in 33 games, and he led the league in both categories in 2023.
Things started to go downhill last season, and the wheels completely came off this year. After a sub 1,000-yard season in 2024, Hill had 265 yards and 1 touchdowns through 3+ games early in the current campaign, but suffered a gruesome leg injury in Week 4 that effectively ended his season.

There were questions lingering about whether Hill would ever play in Miami again, and the player himself may have dropped a massive hint about his future on Wednesday.
Upon hearing the news of the Dolphins’ decision to bench Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill took to Twitter/X to give his thoughts. Never one to hold back, especially on social media, the once-speedy wide receiver posted a simple message of a single “peace” emoji, accompanied by a meme depicting someone disappearing.
Could it be a true sign of things to come? It is always hard to tell with Hill. He is always active on socials, especially when he is injured and not playing, and has admitted that he likes to post things just to “troll” people and get a reaction. So while all the signs point to a breakup between him and the team, it could just be unnecessary smoke coming from a self-proclaimed internet clown.
