Tyrese Haliburton Joins NBA On Prime As New Player Contributor

Tuesday, December 9, is the Emirates NBA Cup Quarterfinals. There are two exciting matchups for fans to watch. At 6:00 p.m. EST, the Heat will be in Orlando to face the Magic.

Later at 8:30 p.m. EST, the Knicks are on the road for a match-up with the Raptors. Coverage of these games will be exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.  On Tuesday morning, NBA on Prime made an announcement. They are welcoming Pacers Tyrese Haliburton as a player contributor. Tonight will be his first of five appearances with the NBA of Prime crew.

Tyrese Haliburton is making the most of his time while he cannot play

In Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, Pacers PG Tyrese Haliburton suffered an unfortunate injury. It was quite literally Indiana’s last game of the year. Haliburton tore his Achilles. With the injury happening so late in the year, Tyrese Haliburton will not play in the 2025-26 season. The two-time all-star has been slowly working his way back to full strength. Haliburton has been somewhat of a player/coach for the Pacers this year.

While he can’t give the team any production on the court, he has great insight for the Pacers. Tyrese Haliburton has been vocal all season long, trying to help the team in any way he can. Recently, it was announced that Haliburton is picking up a side gig for the 2025-26 season. The 25-year-old is joining NBA on Prime as a player contributor. He’ll make his first of five appearances on Tuesday, December 9.

According to a press release from Amazon, Tyrese Haliburton will make his debut on Prime’s postgame show, NBA Nightcap. This will air following the conclusion of Prime Video’s Tuesday night doubleheader. Haliburton is set to document his recovery from an Achilles tear in June. This will be done through short feature videos that show the hard work and dedication it has taken for the young PG to get back on the court.

This is a unique opportunity for the Pacers’ PG. Most players tend to take contributor roles later in their careers. However, Tyrese Haliburton is out the entire 2025-26 season due to a torn Achilles. He is still actively with the Pacers’ roster on a day-to-day basis, but he has some extra time. That’s why the all-star PG is dabbling in being somewhat of an analyst. Tune in to Prime Video Tuesday night to see Tyrese Haliburton’s first appearance.
