The Minnesota Vikings enter the draft with an interesting dilemma.
The team upgraded much of their roster in free agency, signing impact players such as defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave, guard Will Fries, and cornerback Bryon Murphy Jr.
However, the Vikings only have four draft selections, making them a prime candidate to trade back for more picks.
2025 NFL Draft: Minnesota Vikings Picks
- Round 1: No. 24 overall
- Round 3: No. 97 (compensatory pick)
- Round 5: No. 139 (from Browns)
- Round 6: No. 187 (from 49ers)

Cornerback
Besides Murphy, the Vikings’ secondary will look new in 2025.
Minnesota signed cornerbacks Isaiah Rodgers and Jeff Okudah to short-term deals.
Look for Minnesota to spend an early draft pick on some secondary help.
Running Back
Running back is not a need for the Vikings. However, Aaron Jones has entered the wrong side of 30.
The Vikings traded for San Francisco’s Jordan Mason. Additionally, Ty Chandler returns from last year.
In a deep running back class, why not take a flyer on Day 3 on someone who could be a future impact player?
Safety
Not only do the Vikings need help at corner, but they must also find a safety.
Cam Bynum left to sign with the Colts. With Harrison Smith, his age (36) will factor into how long he can stay on the field.
The Vikings should add a younger option at safety.
2025 NFL Mock Draft: Vikings

- Round 5: No. 139 (from Browns) – LSU CB Zy Alexander
- Round 6: No. 187 (from 49ers) – Texas Tech RB Tahj Brooks
The 2025 NFL Draft is April 24–26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
