Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves were home on Tuesday to face the Heat. Minnesota took control in the second half and beat Miami, 122-94. The Timberwolves are 24-13 in 2025-26.Â
Edwards led the Timberwolves with 26 points. On the No Fouls Given podcast, co-host Danny Green was asked if he could see Anthony Edwards in a Heat uniform. This implies that Anthony Edwards would leave the Timberwolves or be traded in the future. Danny Green said he could see Edwards playing for the Heat. However, he believes it will be at the end of Edwards’ career.

With the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, the Timberwolves selected Anthony Edwards out of Georgia. The 24-year-old is currently in his sixth professional season. Edwards is averaging a career-high 29.3 points per game and .407% from beyond the arc. Paul Pierce, Danny Green, and Big Wos are the three co-hosts of the No Fouls Given podcast. On a recent episode, Danny Green was asked if he could see Anthony Edwards playing for the Heat.
Green doesn’t think it will happen any time soon, but he does believe Edwards could find his way to Miami later in his career. The three-time NBA champion explained Edwards still has so much to give to the city of Minnesota. Danny Green noted that Edwards has to grow tired of his situation with the Timberwolves. Since the team traded Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards has been the centerpiece of their franchise.
Anthony Edwards is averaging career-highs across the board for the Timberwolves this season:

📈 50.6% FG
📈 58.2% 2PT
📈 40.0% 3PT

Hall of Famer Paul Pierce agreed with Danny Green that Anthony Edwards will not leave the Timberwolves in the near future. Pierce mentioned that Edwards has still not hit his prime yet. There is still room for Edwards to grow as a player and leader of the franchise. Additionally, Paul Pierce mentioned that Edwards plays for a contender already.
He emphasized how Minnesota is extremely close to getting over the hump. The franchise has made the Western Conference Finals in two consecutive postseasons. However, they’ve fallen short of making an appearance in the NBA Finals.
They’re one of five teams to never play for a championship. That’s a record that Anthony Edwards wants to break before he ever thinks about leaving the Timberwolves. The banter by the No Fouls Given podcast was pure hypothetical. Anthony Edwards is locked in and committed to Minnesota long-term.
