Utah Jazz head coach Will Hardy delivered a profanity-laced message to his players during a timeout in Sunday’s 131-101 blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Jazz Coach Will Hardy Leading Rebuild
In a courtside clip captured by a fan, Hardy was filmed yelling:
“Get the fu—ing stakes. I’m tired of fu—ing doing this every game. Fu—ing play harder.”
Simply put, it’s an ugly situation to be a coach for a rebuilding team.

The Jazz (8-15) are not the worst team in the Western Conference, but they still aren’t a top-10 team. This is expected for a rebuilding squad that lacks prime talent at multiple positions.
Last season, the Jazz lost 60 games in a season for the first time in franchise history. They haven’t won three straight games since January 2024.
What’s more, Utah hasn’t reached the playoffs since 2022 and hasn’t won a first-round series since 2021. The Jazz also haven’t won a conference semifinals series since 2007.
Utah Struggled Against Short-Handed Thunder
Hardy’s frustrations are understandable, as the reigning NBA champs were playing without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (elbow), Lu Dort (thigh), Alex Caruso (quadriceps), Isaiah Joe (knee), and Isaiah Hartenstein (soleus).
Although the Jazz were also without Lauri Markkanen (undisclosed illness), it was one game that should have been more competitive from start to finish.
Oklahoma City raced out to a 13-1 lead before the Jazz scored their first basket 3 1/2 minutes in. The Thunder led Utah 45-20 at the end of the opening quarter, and it was never a close game.
The Jazz have given up 86 points in the first quarters over their last two games. Oklahoma City also maintained a double-digit lead over the final three quarters, leading by 42 points in the second half.
Kyle Filipkowski led Utah with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Walter Clayton Jr. and Taylor Hendricks added 20 points apiece, and Clayton finished with nine assists.
Meanwhile, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams each scored 25 points to help lead the Thunder to 23-1 with their 15th straight victory. Aaron Wiggins added 19 points off the bench as well.
Holmgren also had nine rebounds, while Branden Carlson recorded a season-high 13 points.
The Jazz visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
