Just hours after quarterback Lamar Jackson was quoted saying that this was the best team he’s ever been a part of, one of his top targets suffered a tough injury in practice. As reported from Baltimore Ravens training camp, tight end Isaiah Likely was carted off of the practice field with an apparent ailment to his leg.
Isaiah Likely Carted Off Field At Ravens Camp
Any type of extended or serious injury would be a tough blow for the Ravens. While Mark Andrews has been the team’s top tight end for the past seven years, Likely has come on in recent years as one of Jackson’s favorite targets, and had his best season as a pro in 2024.
But in addition to his 42 catches for 477 yards and 6 touchdowns, Likely is a key part of Baltimore’s offense thanks to his versatility. The team’s offensive system has him line up both on the line and in the slot position, and even lines up out wide from time to time. Andrews certainly isn’t suited for that type of flexibility in the offense, so time missed from Likely would force the Ravens to change up their game plan.
Who Would Step Up In Likely’s Absence?
There would be a handful of players that would need to step up if Likely is to miss any time. Charlie Kolar is listed as the team’s third tight end on the depth chart, and would likely see a snap increase in a fill-in role. Kolar was in the same position last year, and finished with a respectable 131 yards and 1 touchdown on just 11 targets throughout the 2024 season.

The other two tight ends on the roster have never caught a pass in the NFL.
There is no official report coming from the Ravens, though the team’s head coach commented on the situation after the practice session:
“We’ll know more tomorrow.”
